What to Expect?

“First we find your roots, then you rise.”

Root & Rise Therapy is a place to begin untangling confusion and difficult feelings, make sense of and improve relationships and learn more about you.

My approach invites us to gently explore the relationships, cultural upbringing and significant life events that may have shaped you. Then space is created to break free from the limitations the past may create in your life without you even realising it.

You can carry the past without letting it carry you.

Together, we can reflect on patterns of relating to yourself and others, gently understand the places in your life where you may feel stuck, and begin to make sense of what might be keeping you there.

More about my Clinical Practice.

MY APPROACH

My approach is grounded in an understanding of the whole person, from head to toe. I pay attention to the ways our bodies experience and respond to the world, how unprocessed emotions can become held within us, and how these experiences can continue to shape the way we live. Root and Rise Therapy can offer a space to begin reconnecting with these parts of ourselves that have been silenced or gradually lost over time.

I also work from a relational perspective, recognising the profound influence of our early attachments on our developing inner world. I place great importance on understanding the power of the unconscious, and how it can shape the behaviours, beliefs and patterns that may limit us without us even realising it.

CHRONIC ILLNESS PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS

Alongside my work as a psychotherapist, I bring many years of experience supporting individuals living with physical disabilities, cancer and other terminal illness and varied mental health difficulties. Giving me a deeper understanding of the challenges of navigating complex physical, emotional and psychological barriers, and how these experiences affect the individuals life, as well as the lives of the surrounding loved ones.

RELATIONAL DIFFICULTIES

I am particularly passionate about supporting people as they navigate relational difficulties, whether within family dynamics, friendships or romantic relationships. I have experience and understanding within the complexities of human relationships and the patterns that can emerge within them, including communication difficulties, recurring conflict, attachment patterns, boundaries, and the challenges of feeling understood or connected to others.
